A Box of Onomatopoeias

An onomatopoeia, everyday sound that we easily overlook is the world we live in.

In Japan, we use varieties of onomatopoeia to describe sounds, texture, shapes and movements. These are the imaginary sounds that we sense with our ears, eyes and bodies. I'm interested how one's sense can be transformed into a tangible object or vice versa, and how it can be understood without the need for direct translations.

Each book contains an onomatopoeia within it.  Its structure, pop-up or sculptural engineering design are meant to echo the sound/words I use in the book.
